Adult Education
Congregation Ahavath Chesed prides itself on the several opportunities our community members can join for Jewish learning that fuel the Jewish soul. Each adult education opportunity deepens a learner’s understanding in Jewish tradition through a Reform Jewish lens. In addition to the educational components of our adult learning classes, each class or program allows our Temple community to converse, meet, and engage with one another.

Torah Study and Jewish Text Series
Every Saturday morning at 9am, our community meets together to study the Torah or Haftarah portion of the week. The class is led by our clergy team, and all material is studied through a Reform Jewish lens. In addition to our weekly Torah Study class, we offer bi-monthly Zoom learning sessions about different Jewish texts found in our tradition. Dates can be found on our website.
Scholar-in-Residence Series
The Temple invites scholars, thinkers, and innovators to join our community for a Shabbat or weekend in-person or on Zoom to share and teach their insights regarding their areas of focus. Each year, our Temple’s theme serves as a unifying lens to shape which scholars are invited to our community.
Wisdom Speaker Series
Monthly, our adult learners meet at Temple (zoom option available) to learn from community speakers, leaders, and teachers about topics ranging from organizational insights, to technological innovations, and important issues facing our Jacksonville community.
